Baked Sauerkraut With Spicy Drumsticks

Baked Sauerkraut With Spicy Drumsticks

  • 1 head of sauerkraut
  • 1 onion
  • 3 – 4 garlic cloves
  • olive oil
  • bay leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • crushed hot peppers and other spices per taste
  • 4 – 6 drumsticks
  • homemade mustard
  • spices: paprika, chili, pepper, sea salt and turmeric

There is no special science for baked sauerkraut. Cut into stripes and fry on olive oil with chopped onion and garlic constantly stirring about 20 minutes. Then remove from the heat. Grease earthenware (clay-pot) dish with olive oil and pour sauerkraut in it, add bay leaves, pepper and other spices per your taste (except salt, because sauerkraut is salt enough) and stir well. In a meantime rub drumsticks with paprika, chili, pepper, very little sea salt (because sauerkraut is salt enough) and turmeric. They should rest in this spice mixture for at least one hour. Then arrange drumsticks over the sauerkraut in which you previously pour half cup of water. Put in preheated oven on 220 degrees and bake until get nice golden color.
