Chrono Roll With Ajvar


For the roll:

  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons allowed flour (you can mix rye, spelt, buckwheat…)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons ajvar (roasted red pepper sauce)

For the filling:

  • soure cream
  • ham or other chopped delicatessen


Foamly whisk egg whites, then add egg yolks, sour cream, ajvar, flour and baking powder. When make compact mixture pour it on a baking tray covered with baking paper. Bake in preheated oven on 200 degrees until get nice golden color. It will be baked very fast, in some ten minutes. Use toothpick to check is it baked. When it is baked wrap the dough into roll carefully while still hot (it is best to fold and slowly remove the baking paper) and wrap it in a dry cloth and allow it to cool properly. For the filling mix sour cream and chopped ham. When cooled fill with prepared filling and wrap again into roll.
