Mackerel Pate


  • 1 baked mackerel (about 350 g)
  • 1/2 red onion
  • 1/3 bunch of dill
  • 1/3 bunch of wild garlic
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 4 – 5 olives
  • 3 cherry tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon caper
  • sea salt and pepper per taste
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • little water


Clean the fish from the skin and bones and chop the meat with your fingers and put into blender. Peel onion, cut into large ribs and also put into blender. Add olives, dill, caper and wild garlic. Then add lemon juice, olive oil and cherry tomatoes. Mix well to get homogenous pate. Add little water to get desired density. Try and add more spices if you think you didn’t put enough.
