Mealy Bars


  • 125 g pork fat (washed)
  • 2 eggs
  • 90 ml lukewarm water
  • 360 g spelt flour
  • 1 teaspoon caraway
  • pinch of sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • olive oil and seeds per sprinkling


Mix all ingredients and knead the dough. Wrap the dough into transparent foil and leave overnight. In the morning add baking powder, knead again and then stretch the dough into thin rectangle. Grease with olive oil and sprinkle with seeds per your wish. Cut into bars the size of your choice. Bake in preheated oven on 220 degrees about 15 minutes.
