Poached Pears


  • 2 pears
  • 400 m red wine
  • 3 tablespoon agave syrup
  • 1 vanilla stick
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon clove
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 glass of water


Peel the pears, but leave stalks. Cut the bottom part of the pears so they can stand upright in the plate. Pour wine into sauce pan, add water, agave syrup, spices and vanilla stick. Stir all and add pears. Cook until soften. Slowly remove them, put in a plate and continue cooking sauce until reduced. Try and if isn’t sweet enough add more agave syrup.
