Soft Rye Buns


  • 200 – 250 g rye flour
  • 200 ml water
  • 3 tablespoon allowed oil
  • pinch of sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • sunflower seeds for sprinkling


Mix in a bowl flour and sea salt, add oil and pour the water. Mix, cover with foil and leave overnight. In the morning add baking powder and a bit of rye flour if the mixture is too liquid (you should get a little denser mixture than for pancakes). Use a ladle to get mixture and pour it on a baking dish covered with baking paper to form buns. Sprinkle with sunflower seeds and bake in preheated oven on 200 degrees about 20 minutes.
