Cauliflower Moussaka


  • 1 cauliflower
  • 1/2 kg minced beef
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 leek
  • dried parsley
  • oregano
  • pepper
  • paprika


Cleaned and washed cauliflower cook in salt water for 5 minutes. Separate flowers and if too big split in half. Chop the onion and garlic, cut leek into rings and place in sauce pan, add a bit of water and when transparent add meat and continue sauteing while stirring. When the meat brown add spices, cook for more 2 minutes and remove from the heat.
Then in a greased baking dish (use a bit of olive oil) arrange alternately layer of cauliflower, layer of meat and finish with cauliflower. Pour a bit of water in a dish and you can cover your moussaka with whipped egg whites if you want. Bake until the water you added not evaporated and until cauliflower get golden color.
